Great Day at the Market

What a great day at the market!

Lloyd Douglas, president of the Cascade Neighborhood Council, Farmer's Market Committee member, and poobah, rang the opening bell at 3:00 pm and so it began.

Shoppers were treated to a variety of local food and goods by a fantastic group of vendors lined up along Pontius Ave until 7:00 pm. Local businesses got in the act with a special cocktail (Southlake Grill), free treats (Urban Beast) and half-price lattes (Inner Chapters).

I really appreciated the variety of vendors--all sorts of different offerings. There was clearly a lot of marketing by Pike Place, too, which is fair since it is relatively close and open all week. They can't compete with the location on Thursdays though!

This is a great market
And I'll be a proud supporter of it for years to come.

sweet
Love that this popped up two blocks from my place. I got a bag of delicious bing cherries (forgot the vendor name) last week, and will definitely stop back by tomorrow.
